African Policy Heroes Unveiled - Jawhratelkmal Kanu
'African Policy Heroes Unveiled: Young African Leaders Share Their Inspirational Stories' explores the dynamic world of leadership within various policy fields across the African continent.
Hosted by a Apiwe Hotele, fellow at the Young African Leaders Programme (YALP) of the Florence School of Transnational Governance, the series sheds light on the challenges and solutions faced by aspiring leaders in Africa starting from an encounter with their personal hero or heroine, that is, the person who has inspired them personally and professionally and guided them on their career path.
Jawhratelkmal Kanu is an economist and political economy analyst from Sudan. In her conversation with Apiwe, Jawhratelkmal speaks about how her father has inspired and supported her along the way. She also discuss leadership skills in the field of political economy, the importance of thinking critically and not taking things for granted, and what she takes away from her three months as a YALP Fellow in Florence. Finally, the interview also provides space to talk about the ongoing war in Sudan.

As a finn my self, I must say that Alexander Stubb, who is our current president at the moment here in Finland, is telling fairytails in this "lecture." I am also stunned, that probably majority of this country`s citizens has been brainwashed so easily to follow this biased and false Western narrative. For me, Mearsheimer is clearly on the map about the reasons why the war broke out in Ukraine. He has the strongest arguments. Unfortunately, here in Finland if you have opinion such as I do you are concidered to be putinists.

The problem is that white dominance cannot last forever. The world is changing and becoming a multipolar world where people matter and not just the elite. The eradication of poverty is far more important than global warming. Because global warming warning cannot be reversed but trying to slow it down, planting more trees will be more beneficial for the future generations.

Even more, your arguments doesn't matter any more, the West trashed out the international law, now only the power works. Too late to cry Stub.

1 He does not know what Putin is thinking. 2 He does not mention how the CIA and NATO have provoked in Ukraine. 3. He does not mention the wars started by the United States. So this is just Western propaganda! If you want a more nuanced picture, then I recommend the following: ua-cam.com/video/7uHGlfeCBbE/v-deo.html

I agree with your analysis 100 percent, sir. Mearsheimer, with his characteristic pro-Russia slant, paints Putin, Medvedev and Lavrov almost like saints, totally incapable of aggressive and imperialist goals. And he blames almost every world conflict on the U.S, and its allies. Because of this, his capacity for fairness and objectivity is dubious.

His argument for a rules based world order may have been relevant a year ago when this video was made, but the USA and other countries’ hypocrisy in the Middle East has undermined the rules based world order. I also do not for one minute buy his argument that NATO is not an agressor. There is ample evidence of aggressive regime change and other actions that are clearly in the interest of its member states.

Really tried my best to watch this video till very end but I couldn't , this is pure nonsense, like a fairy tail our media presenting every day. With all respect for debate, different angles and professor, he's full of shit. Mearsheimer is right, Putin warned us many many times he'll not tolerate hostile weapons on his strategic borders like any nuclear power wouldn't but we choose to ignore, now Ukraine is done. Putin want to be respected? Of course, and he should, he's president, weather we like it or not, of the biggest country on planet with nuclear arsenal. What Stalin, what legacy? From totally ruined USSR Russia he led them to modern society, yes there's no GMO or children cutting boobs while 12, fine by me, no they don't live like maybe Norwegians but certainly better than it would be if Yeltsin was around. He hates West and "our way of life"? Cut the crap, somehow everyone we don't see fit hates our way of life! Saddam, Gaddafi, Al Asad, Putin, all hates "democracy", of course and look Libya, Iraq, Syria, ruined but "free". In past 23 years, NATO wasn't defense alliance but war machine making mostly but not exclusively US interests where politics doesn't work... that's facts and this is just an opinion with few inverted points of someone who "met Putin" so he somehow made psychiatric evaluation. Naive but funny to watch.

@@Azdroc96 my country was forged in war, 1/3 of Croatia was occupied for years so nobody have to tell me what war is. I have enough years on my back and as media professional have first hand knowledge how public opinion is formed no matter how fake, sick or wrong the narrative is. We have problem admitting when we're wrong, EU, US and West as a whole. Double and triple standards, we see rules of international law as we see fit, that's a fact. If NATO is "peace keeping force" like professor here claim how come we stand aside while Israel commiting genocide, ICC said it not me, but we had to "free Libya" from Gaddafi? When NATO bombed Serbia and Milošević, who caused much suffering in Croatia and Bosnia, people here were ok with that cause Serbia was our enemy but that was wrong thing to do, violating international law. Now we have ICC warrant for Netanyahu but nobody even think of sanctions let alone intervention in Gaza, so how's that ok? Hypocrisy, plain and simple. But Russia and Putin, well we have to hate them and Zelensky is a hero of democracy, of course, sure...ok. Problem is, whatever view or opinion any of us have, we're marching toward direct war with Russia which we can't win.

I am a second generation overseas Chinese, but I am first a human being and secondly I am a Chinese descent. Let's not be racial and be peacemakers. Certainly, the west has ravaged the east and colonized them in the past and even now they are colonizing them economically. This does not mean the east is holier than the west. China is a new country. The People Republic of China was birthed on 1st October, 1949. Prior to it, was Republic of China in 1912 (10th October). Before there was no China, it was the Great Qing Empire. In the 15th Century it was the Ming not Chinese. Then in 18th century, it was the Qing. Let's use a general term, the Hans. The Hans was the majority of the population. the Qing was the Manchus that ruled the Hans. In the 15th Century the Hans were trading with many locations (not a country at that time) and the Hans never conquered them is because cannon and gun wasn't available yet. Today, China has the modern weaponaries. Let's see 100 years from now. The past dynasties they do colonized their neighbors. It colonized Taiwan for 212 years, Tibet, Sinkiang, the South autonomous region. This proves that we the Hans are not Holier. We are all guilty of colonization. Let's make peace and let righteousness rule.
