African Policy Heroes Unveiled - Adanvo Isaac Houngnigbe
'African Policy Heroes Unveiled: Young African Leaders Share Their Inspirational Stories' explores the dynamic world of leadership within various policy fields across the African continent.
Hosted by a Apiwe Hotele, fellow at the Young African Leaders Programme (YALP) of the Florence School of Transnational Governance, the series sheds light on the challenges and solutions faced by aspiring leaders in Africa starting from an encounter with their personal hero or heroine, that is, the person who has inspired them personally and professionally and guided them on their career path.
Adanvo Isaac Houngnigbe is a medical doctor and epidemologist from Benin. In his conversation with Apiwe, Isaac shares how the tragic story of his mother has influenced his path to become a doctor and work towards the improvement of medical services. He also provides insights into why he chose to engage in public policy, how health is related to other transnational issues such as climate change, and how there is a personal story behind every statistic we see.

What professor Stubb needs to do is have a debate with Mearsheimer, then the listener could make their own decisions. Stubb seems to have his own agenda which he aggressively pursues. Unfortunately, such a debate would never happen, there is a marked difference between their academic capacities.

Mohammed, I suggest focusing your efforts on investing in directing Africa's youth towards China. A more beneficial future for the entire continent would be to fully embrace China. Europe lacks the necessary tools to invest in and transform Africa in the direction that is truly needed. Moreover, Europe relies on African goods being dirt cheap to fuel its industries, which creates a serious conflict of interest. Understandably, Europe's primary concern is safeguarding its own interests and those of its people. However, this inherently makes Europe a poor partner for any meaningful progress in Africa. There are 500 years of examples to draw from, yet Africa remains largely unchanged. It may be best to continue selling Europe whatever commodities are cheap enough to prevent them from destabilizing your countries, while focusing on developing new industries and sectors of growth that can truly benefit the people without threatening European powers. Russia appears to be a legitimate security partner for the time being, and they may be able to keep the Europeans off Africa's back, allowing the continent some breathing room to stand on its own. Once that breathing room is given and security is established all the migrants will go back. There is very little that europe has to provide that China cannot provide or create in their home countries. This prevents all migration issues that all the europeans are always crying about. I pray that Africa does not make the same mistake again by trusting europeans. Their populations will be fine, they have all of europe to call from, they would rather europeans than non-europeans understandably.

The Icarus Project has wonderful historical videos about how awful Russian colonial genocidal ethnic cleansing expansionist history is. It makes the worst of USA history look great even as flawed as it is, it's a far better world leader, and the freedoms within the USA and EU allow for further improvement while authoritarian dictatorships populations decay.

As a finn my self, I must say that Alexander Stubb, who is our current president at the moment here in Finland, is telling fairytails in this "lecture." I am also stunned, that probably majority of this country`s citizens has been brainwashed so easily to follow this biased and false Western narrative. For me, Mearsheimer is clearly on the map about the reasons why the war broke out in Ukraine. He has the strongest arguments. Unfortunately, here in Finland if you have opinion such as I do you are concidered to be putinists.

The problem is that white dominance cannot last forever. The world is changing and becoming a multipolar world where people matter and not just the elite. The eradication of poverty is far more important than global warming. Because global warming warning cannot be reversed but trying to slow it down, planting more trees will be more beneficial for the future generations.

I agree with your analysis 100 percent, sir. Mearsheimer, with his characteristic pro-Russia slant, paints Putin, Medvedev and Lavrov almost like saints, totally incapable of aggressive and imperialist goals. And he blames almost every world conflict on the U.S, and its allies. Because of this, his capacity for fairness and objectivity is dubious.

His argument for a rules based world order may have been relevant a year ago when this video was made, but the USA and other countries’ hypocrisy in the Middle East has undermined the rules based world order. I also do not for one minute buy his argument that NATO is not an agressor. There is ample evidence of aggressive regime change and other actions that are clearly in the interest of its member states.
